Our story

Faith, community and belonging — for every hand.

Signs Ministries Charitable Trust has spent more than fifteen years walking alongside Deaf and hard-of-hearing Australians, so that no one has to feel alone in silence.

Our mission

Removing the barriers that isolate

Our mission is to share faith, friendship and practical support with Deaf and hard-of-hearing people — and to equip the wider community to welcome them fully.

For many Deaf people, everyday spaces — churches, services, events and even family gatherings — can feel closed off simply because communication isn't accessible. Signs Ministries exists to change that. Through Auslan-supported gatherings, Deaf-friendly training and genuine relationship, we help build a community where every person is understood, valued and included.

A journey of inclusion

Signs Ministries Charitable Trust was established on 31 December 2008 and is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Based in Currumbin Waters on the Gold Coast, we have grown from a small circle of friends into an ongoing ministry serving the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.

Over the years our volunteers have supported Deaf individuals and families, helped churches become accessible, and created welcoming spaces where faith and friendship can flourish — free from the barriers of poor communication.
